Introduction

Welcome to the Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) at The University of Guelph. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our services, including our events, workshops, and digital platforms.


Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the service.


Membership and Participation

Eligibility: Membership is open to currently enrolled students at the University of Guelph and other College or University institutions.

Code of Conduct: Members must adhere to our code of conduct, which promotes respect, inclusivity, and a positive environment.


Use of Services

Our services must be used for educational and non-commercial purposes only.

You agree not to misuse the services or help anyone else do so.


Intellectual Property

All content provided by GDSC, such as workshop materials and digital content, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.


Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of our services.


Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes on our website.


Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided "as is". GDSC expressly disclaims any warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.


Event Conduct and Safety

Participants must comply with all event-specific rules, including but not limited to codes of conduct, safety guidelines, and substance use policies. Consumption or possession of alcohol, cannabis, or illicit substances is prohibited at all GDSC events. Participants engaging in disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior may be removed at the organizers discretion without refund.


University Policies Compliance

All participants must comply with applicable University of Guelph policies while attending GDSC Hacks 2025. This includes adherence to the University of Guelph Fire Safety Policies, covering fire prevention, emergency evacuation procedures, and building safety regulations, as well as the University of Guelph Tobacco- and Smoke-Free Campus Policy, which prohibits smoking, vaping, and the use of tobacco products on campus grounds.

Non-compliance with these policies may result in immediate removal from the event venue without refund or prize eligibility, and may be reported to University authorities.


Limitation of Liability

GDSC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages resulting from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the services.


Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed in accordance with the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
